Anyway, why would someone write if they didn't love to read? I'm always surprised when someone tells me they want to be a writer of fiction but they don't read fiction.Brian Yanskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16338795130182877245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6967308592064240861.post-76750524965470976182012-04-02T22:14:28.719-07:002012-04-02T22:14:28.719-07:00Dear Brian,

I think it's important that everyone who wants to write should be a reader. I think it's by reading a great deal that I've gained a bit of a facility for putting a few words on a page here and there.

Hope you are doing well. I love your books.

Yvonne Yansky KurtzYvonne Kurtzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03413888879313855404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6967308592064240861.post-30797105936349873092012-03-24T06:10:31.033-07:002012-03-24T06:10:31.033-07:00I agree. I think the number who don't get it and won't be published is very small though--of those who can learn from their mistakes, I mean.
Thanks for the comment, Kim.Brian Yanskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16338795130182877245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6967308592064240861.post-62411963418556875082012-03-23T10:02:36.114-07:002012-03-23T10:02:36.114-07:00Great post!

People try for years who never get it and probably won't be published. I think there's a sweet spot of talent and drive.Kim Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12107423503092233303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6967308592064240861.post-23235479427726311122012-03-22T15:59:58.224-07:002012-03-22T15:59:58.224-07:00Thanks, Valerie. Thanks, Valerie.Brian Yanskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16338795130182877245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6967308592064240861.post-7538054336402809432012-03-22T08:39:49.040-07:002012-03-22T08:39:49.040-07:00I love this post. As a writer I like to think that talent fuels much of what I do, but it's probably not true...drive and persistence are far more important.valeriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14675728497264088408noreply@blogger.com
